Satellite Television Systems Explained
(NOTE: This is

Free satellite television
systems are being offered by Dish Network and Directv®. You've
seen these ads all over the internet and probably even on your favorite
TV channels. So how does satellite television work?
By using the communication
satellites that are located in the southern hemisphere, miles above
the earth's surface, the satellite television companies are able to
broadcast their services to anyone with a clear view of the southern
sky, plus a satellite TV dish and receiver system.
You may recall that
it wasn't all that long ago that people were using very large satellite
television dishes. These dishes were typically mounted in the middle
of the backyard. The large satellite television dishes rely on the
C-Band frequencies, as opposed to the Ku-Band frequencies which are
used by the smaller dishes, such as those that you would get if you
were to sign up with Dish Network or Directv®.
The C-Band satellites
have fewer channel capabilities than the Ku-Band satellites. Therefore,
in order to get a lot of channels with a big dish, you would have
to be tuned in to multiple satellites. You might even have to pay
a subscription fee for each satellite that you have access to. With
the Ku-Band satellites, you can get a ton of channels from a single
satellite. This is one of the reasons why you can get programming
from Dish Network and Directv® so inexpensively.
Another obvious benefit
of using the Ku-Band satellites is the small satellite television
dish. These small dishes, such as those that are provided by Dish
Network and Directv®, can usually fit nicely on your roof or patio.
No more filling up your backyard with an unsightly dish. I'm sure
that you could find a better use for the space, like maybe for a pool.
When you sign up for
the Dish Network or Directv® systems and services, you will get
free standard professional installation. If, on the other hand, you
were going to try out the C-Band method and use a BUD (big ugly dish),
then you would either have to figure out how to install and calibrate
it yourself or hire a local technician to take care of it for you.
If you have always
been curious about satellite television systems then there has been
no better time than now to take advantage of some great deals. Satellite
TV offers are better than ever and Dish Network or Directv® would
be a great alternative to cable.
