Why Satellite TV is Better than Cable
(NOTE: This is
another one of our ongoing articles. For the complete current list,
please see the satellite tv article directory
below.)
It may seem like somewhat
of a bold statement to just flat out say that satellite TV is better
than cable. After all, cable must have some sort of redeeming qualities,
right? Well yes, the cable industry as a whole still offers a good
service. It's just that the satellite TV services that are available
from Dish Network and Directv® can offer you so much more.
With satellite TV you
get more choices when it comes to channels and services plus you can
usually get it all for quite a bit less than you would pay for cable
services. This comes as especially good news for those people who
happen to live outside the boundaries for cable reception. With satellite
TV, you only need a clear view of the southern sky in order to be
able to receive the signals and take advantage of the offers.
If you haven't looked
into satellite TV in awhile then you might be in for a pleasant surprise.
Gone are the days when owning a satellite TV dish meant that you would
have to erect a huge dish in your backyard. These types of dishes
were sometimes referred to as the BUD dishes. BUD is just an acronym
for "big ugly dish". Also gone are the days that you would
have to worry about all of the technical aspects that come with owning
a satellite television dish.
These days, thanks
to the Dish Network and Directv® services, you can have a small,
18-20 inch dish that is capable of receiving hundreds of channels
for one small monthly programming fee. You don't have to worry about
any of the technical aspects of owning a dish because these satellite
TV companies will take care of everything for you. For new subscribers,
the offers include a free dish and free receivers for up to four rooms
in your home. They will even give you free standard professional installation
when you sign up for their services.
Satellite TV offers
all digital video and audio. Cable only offers digital services in
certain areas. Satellite TV offers the most channels in HD. Cable
only offers high definition on a select number of channels. Satellite
TV services are generally cheaper than cable. The list goes on and
on but you probably get the point. Satellite TV is better than cable.
