Dish Network Packages

Choosing between the
various Dish Network packages can either be a daunting experience
or a very simple task. It really depends on how involved you want
to get with your decision making.
The first thing that
you will want to is take a look at your options. On the Dish
Network authorized dealer site you will find links
to the various packages that you can choose from. You will notice
that there are about 5 packages that you can choose from. You will
find a red button that is titled "Compare Channel Packages".
If you follow that
link, you will be able to view a comparison chart that lists each
of the channels that come with each of the packages. I won't go into
details about each of the packages at this time because over time,
the selections may change. You'll just have to go check it out for
yourself!
When comparing the
channel packages, it is a good idea to take some notes. You will probably
find that some of your favorite channels are not listed in the lower
priced packages. You might even find that your very favorite channel
is only listed in a package that is one or two tiers higher than the
package that is in your price range. This is very common.
The only way to get
around this is to either compromise or look at it from a different
perspective. The other way of looking at it is that these packages
are generally discounted for the first year. So, by choosing a higher
tier, you can benefit from knowing that you will at least be getting
a discount for the first year and that you will certainly be getting
a better deal than if you were to choose cable or another satellite
TV provider.
After the first year,
you could then either choose to compromise and change to a lower priced
package or you could call Dish Network directly and try to negotiate
with them. In some cases they may cut you a deal and extend your discounts
for an additional year. It may be at least worth a try.
Everything really depends
on how high of a value you place on your television entertainment.
If you are happy with getting just the basics then you could choose
one of the lowest priced Dish Network packages and be done with it.
If you are like most people and you get a good portion of your entertainment
from your television, you might want to take some extra time and really
look at the channels that are included in each of the packages.
Typically, when you
start to take an in-depth look at the packages that you can choose
from, you will find that for just about $5 more per month, you could
jump up to the next tier and get many more channels. So then to set
it in your mind that this particular package is the tier that you
will probably go with. However, upon further examination, you find
that for only $5 more than that, you could jump to the next tier which
contains an amazing amount of programming. This can get you to scratching
your head and wondering if you are going to just select the highest
priced package and get it over with. Like I said, it's a common scenerio.
The way to get around
this freefall is to set some goals and limits early on. Make a firm
decision as to how much you want to pay and then only look at those
Dish Network packages which fall within your price range. Another
option would be to make a firm commitment to the channels that you
must have and then simply accept the package that provides you with
those channels.
Once you have a package
picked out, feel free to visit the competition and see how much a
similar package would cost if you were to go with their services.
Also keep in mind that your overall monthly cost will include more
than just the cost of the programming packages. There are generally
fees for installation, activation, local channels, additional satellite
