The Dish TV Tips Blog

To get complete information about satellite tv deals, the dish tv providers and the programming that is available, visit the Dishtvtips.com Home Page.

Hopefully this blog will add some further information that can be discussed in an open forum. There are a lot of considerations when it comes to choosing a television programming provider. It's not just satellite tv issues but there's also cable to consider.

When it comes to television programming, you can either get your channels from satellite tv or cable. Once you've decided which of those to choose, there are still some other considerations. If you choose cable, you might have some different cable operators in your area. If you choose satellite tv then you'll just need to decide between Dish Network and DIRECTV.

The main thing to remember is that you will want to get a television programming package that includes a large percentage of your favorite channels. Then you can consider prices. In general, Dish Network offers the most affordable programming packages.

If you would like to discuss any issues that are related to satellite tv, or a similar subject, then feel free to post whatever is on your mind.

Here's a Tip...

If you live in a wooded area and you are seriously considering the idea of getting a satellite tv system, you might want to do a quick survey of your property to see if you will be able to receive a signal.

Remember that in order to receive a satellite tv signal, you will need to have a clear, unobstructed view of the southern sky.

So take a look at your house and picture where your satellite dish might be installed.

The dish will be pointing up at approximately a 45 degree angle. If there are trees in the way then this could interfere with your reception. You should also look at trees below the 45 degree level and try to predict how fast they will grow and whether or not you would want to top off those trees.

Of course, if the trees are on someone else's property, you probably won't have any control over the matter.

This is just a way that you can save yourself some disappointment down the road. Better to know now than to wait until after you have already ordered your satellite tv system only to have an installer come out to your house and tell you that it can't be done.
