Dave from San Francisco
Like many other guys who are in their
late 20's, Dave is the kind of guy who likes to unwind after a long
week at work by sitting in front of his TV set on a Sunday afternoon.
He doesn't like to go it alone though. Not Dave, he likes to have
several of his buddies over so that they can either celebrate or commiserate,
depending on the current fate of their favorite football team, the
San Francisco 49ers.
So, as you might expect, now that
you know Dave's favorite football team, he and his buddies are sitting
around commiserating and generally finding one excuse after another
for the 49ers demise in the 2nd half of the game. It's at this point,
when watching the actual football action on the screen becomes tedious,
that Dave and the boys actually start paying attention to the commercials.
A commercial for Dish Network comes
on and promises that you can get plenty of football action with a
satellite dish and a subscription to the Dish Network service. Currently
Dave is subscribed to his local cable television service. So far it
hasn't really been too bad. There have only been a handful of times
that the service went out and that was usually when there were some
high winds in the middle of the California stormy season which lasts
from December all the way through January.
Dave and his friends are intrigued
by the satellite TV commercial and begin to discuss the possibility
that other satellite TV systems might be available. What they are
really interested in is being able to watch a broader selection of
football games on Sundays. When the going gets tough for the 49ers,
as it often does, it might be nice to switch to a different game.
All of this thought and discussion
gets Dave to do a little homework. He does some research about satellite
TV systems and is surprised to find out that the up-time is actually
better than with cable. He had figured that having a satellite dish
would mean that there would be more times when his service was unavailable
but just the opposite turned out to be true.
Another thing that Dave learned was
that satellite TV systems were not very expensive. In fact, he could
get a satellite TV system for free from either Dish Network or Directv®.
It was just the programming service that would cost money. But that
looked to be fairly cheap and Dish Network had some especially attractive
prices for their satellite TV programming services.
When Dave learned that he could get
The NFL Network with Dish Network, he was finally hooked. So he went
ahead and signed up for one of the free Dish Network satellite TV
systems and subscribed to The NFL Network. On Thursday his system
was installed and the following Sunday he had a little surprise for
his friends. That weekend the 49ers game was not going to be broadcast
on any of the usual channels that they had previously used but this
weekend they were still able to watch the 49ers lose, all thanks to
The NFL Network and Dave's new satellite TV system from Dish Network.
They also got to switch back and forth between 7 other NFL games,
which made watching the 49ers lose again, a little more bearable.
