Wading Through the Satellite TV Offers
Sometimes we can become a little overwhelmed
when we are bombarded with the plethora of satellite tv offers that
are pushed in front of our eyes. It may just seem like there are too
many choices. It can seem simple and safe to just stick with whatever
television programming service that we currently have.
It's actually not as complicated as
it may seem. First, there are really only two organizations that have
satellite TV offers which are worth consideration. These two companies
are Dish Network and Directv®. Since you would only need to choose
between these two providers, comparing Dish
Network vs. Directv® would be the first logical step
in wading through the satellite TV offers.
Keep in mind that Dish Network and
Directv® offer very similar satellite TV services. You don't really
have to worry about getting the best deal. They both offer a free
satellite TV system for up to four rooms in your home. They both offer
free standard professional installation of your new satellite TV system.
The only true difference between their satellite TV offers comes in
the form of the programming packages that they offer. One is not necessarily
better than the other but you may have some personal preferences that
could influence your decision.
Satellite TV Programming Packages
The Dish Network basic programming
packages include America's Top 60, America's Top 60 Plus, America's
Top 120, America's Top 180 and America’s "Everything" Pak. Which programming
package you choose just depends on which channels you want to have
and how much you are willing to spend per month. The bottom tier of
the Dish Network programming packages is the cheapest programming
package available in the United States. On the other hand, if you
opt for America’s "Everything" Pak then you can expect to pay quite
a bit more for your monthly programming charges.
The Directv® basic programming
packages include TOTAL CHOICE®,
TOTAL CHOICE® PLUS and TOTAL CHOICE® PREMIER. As is the case with
Dish Network, you can elect to go with the lowest tier if you would
like to keep your monthly bills in check. The Directv® programming
packages are generally a little more expensive than Dish Network but
can still beat what you would pay for cable.
You should take the time to go through
each of the satellite TV providers websites so that you can preview
each of the programming packages that are mentioned above. Completely
disregard price for a moment while you look through the list of channels
that are available. Do any of the channel lineups look appealing to
you? If one or more of the package deals happens to contain your favorite
TV channels then you will just have to weight your options and decide
if the price is right.
Keep in mind that you can start out
with a basic package and just see how it goes. If you later decide
that you're not getting enough entertainment or you later discover
a programming package that is more suited to your needs, you can always
call the satellite TV provider and order a different package.
The Free Satellite TV Offers -
What you Get for FREE
Both of the satellite TV offers include
a free satellite dish, receivers and remote controls for up to four
rooms. Both of their satellite TV offers include free standard professional
installation for up to four rooms. On these aspects, Dish Network
and Directv® rarely differ in their offers.
However, from time to time you will
be able to see some slight variations. One or the other may offer
free shipping or a free upgrade to a DVR or HDTV system. Sometimes
these types of bonus offers are made available by way of a rebate.
So you may have to initially pay for them up front and then wait for
your rebate check to come in the mail. You will just have to weight
your options and decide which of the current satellite TV offers is
enticing enough for you to want to sign up.
